The Des Plaines Park District invites the community for the Grand Re-Opening of West Park, October 2, 2010, at
11:00am-2:00pm. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be at 11:15am, and sports, games, and activities will follow. Refreshments will be served. West Park is located at 651 South Wolf Road at Greenview Avenue.
The Park features and amenities include: a handicapped accessible, "boundary free" playground, a .44 mile walking/biking path around the park, a new lighted, hard surface tennis court, new, lighted basketball courts – one full court and one half court, a bocce ball court, a new, illuminated area designated for ice skating, two new ball fields, one with 80' base paths and one with 70' base paths, and three new covered shelters, as well as plenty of open space for family play.
