The Des Plaines Park District Chippewa Pool Project: A neighborhood pool on site at 197 North 8th Avenue.
The Des Plaines Park District is committed to the preservation of a neighborhood pool in Chippewa Park at 197 North 8th Avenue. The forum will present a proposed timeline to build a state of the art, new pool at the current location. Chippewa Pool is over 40 years old and the useful life of a pool such as this is 25-30 years. The project has been in the District's capital plan for replacement. Information on financing, timeline, conceptual plans, and possible features will be available for review. Preliminary plans for the pool include six lap lanes and a zero depth entry with water play equipment features. Public input is encouraged at the forum or by emailing pr@desplainesparks.org. A questionnaire and conceptual plans will be available for public comment after Nov. 3.
