
Ride and Read for the Record at the Des Plaines Public Library
Thursday, October 6 from 4 – 6 pm, families with children in K – 5th grades are invited to break out their bikes and join us as we RIDE our bikes to the library to kick off our fall Work, Learn, Play, MOVE activities for kids!
Meet at Des Plaines' West Park picnic are near the Wolf Road parking lot at 4 pm for a 4:15 group bicycle ride to the library. A police escort courtesy of the Des Plaines Police Department will accompany the ride.

Once at the library, participate in the annual Read for the Record event founded by Jumpstart, an early education organization, by sharing in story time. "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" by Anna Dewdney will be read on that same day by over 2,000,000 people around the world, and you will be counted!
Those who choose not to joint the bike ride can still Read For the Record. Join us in the library's room B/C around 5 pm. In case of inclement weather, storytime only at 5 pm at the library.
