Flag-Hoisting ceremony in Glendale heights marks Pakistan's Day
Pakistani Americans gathered in Glendale Heights, last Saturday August 14th, 2021 to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan
The Pakistan Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony held in the outstanding festivity of the year in the Chicago Suburbs. Hundreds of Pakistani Americans gathered in Glendale Heights, Illinois last Saturday August 14th, 2021 to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan. The event was held at Camera Park, located at 101 Fullerton Avenue, Glendale Heights, IL 60139 Organized by Shah Qureshi and its team. The Organization was called Friends of Pakistan Independence Day.
Over 1000 people, representing the Pakistani, Asian, and American communities, local government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and Local and American media attended the historical event. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran Consul General, Mayor Glendale Heights Chodri M A Khokhar , President Shah Qureshi along with Local officials hoisted the green-crescent-and-star, the Pakistani and American national anthems were played. The Mayors of Oakbrook, US Congressman Brad Schneider (10th District), Attorney General of DuPage and County Treasurer sent their messages of felicitations, which were read out by their representatives at the Ceremony. Several members of DuPage county Board and several members of local government from Chicago North suburbs were present Including United States Congressman Sean Casten joined the Historical event.
Glendale Heights Mayor Chodri M A Khokhar , who was the chief guest at the event, congratulated the Pakistani American on the completion of 75th years of Independence on the occasion. Mayor Khokhar said, "Our community has stood strong in the face of multiple challenges, but we are Main partner of the American Political system."

Ms. Shah Qureshi, who was the President of the event, congratulated the Pakistan American Community. She also thanked her team (Friends of Pakistan Independence Day) for organizing a wonderful 75th Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony with traditional fervor and enthusiasm.
Consul General Tariq Karim congratulated the Pakistani-American community on this landmark occasion while highlighting the historic importance of Pakistan Independence. He said, "Overseas Pakistanis as an asset and was committed to ensure their welfare by initiating policies to involve them in economic and governance activities. I am Hoping that in future Pakistani diaspora will also Organize such Kind of many events."

United States Congressman Sean Casten congratulated the Pakistani American community of Glendale Heights, Illinois on their Independent Day. He said, "The Pakistani community in Chicagoland has become increasingly more visible and involved, making events like this incredibly important in promoting the culture of Pakistan."
The Consul General of Pakistan Tariq Karim, Glendale Heights President Chodri MA Khokhar with other Community prominent leaders cut the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan cake.
The program concluded with a performance by prominent singer Asif Siddiqui, who sang national songs. The event ended with a collective prayer for the prosperity of Pakistan.
