Friday Blotter: Sticky Fingers Puts Sugar In Gas Tank, Man Gets DUI After Drinking 'Two' Beers
Man's vehicle is inoperable after someone puts sugar in his gas tank, another man's location is discovered thanks to fresh snow fall.

Wednesday Dec. 10 police responded to a call from a woman who reported that she had seen a man driving a vehicle with no headlights on that crashed into a parked vehicle. The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, according to the witness, got out of the vehicle and then fled the scene of the accident. Police arrived on the scene and followed footprints in the snow to where they found the man hiding under a bush. He admitted to crashing into the other vehicle and also admitted that he had been drinking. Police asked how much he had been drinking to which he replied, "two beers."
After investigating police found three 32 oz. beer bottles (two were empty, one was 1/3 full) in the vehicle and also that the offender had no valid license.

Ramon Vasquez of the 2900 block of S. Curtis Street was charged with DUI, aggravated DUI, having a suspended driver's license, no valid insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without headlights and failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle.

Wednesday Dec. 8 police responded to a call from a man on the 300 block of Dover Lane who reported that an unknown offender had put sugar in his gas tank. Police on the scene observed a sticky substance around the gas cap, which they suspected to be sugar and found the vehicle to be inoperable. The victim has a suspect in mind. Total estimated property loss: $500.

Thursday Dec. 9 police responded to a call from a man at residence on the 800 block of E. Walter Avenue, who reported that his front picture window had been broken. Police observed a brick and two by four on the front porch. The victim has no suspects in mind. Total estimated property loss: $1,000.
Trespass to Vehicle
Thursday Dec. 9 a woman came into the station to report that her vehicle had been rummaged through in the middle of the night, and all of the contents of the center console and glove box were on the passenger side floor while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of her residence on the 200 block of Westmere Road. No items were missing.
