About 300 people came out to Glenview’s Jackman Park on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 for the annual Women’s March to defend women's reproductive rights after the passage of the Texas Heartbeat Act. The March was organized by activist Catherine Wilson, Jessica Judge Schott and her team. Most of the Protesters wore Pink shirts and held signs in support of abortion rights and in protest the latest Texas abortion law. Similar demonstrations took place in more than 600 other cities across the US, including All major cities like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Washington.
Participants voiced concern over the Governor of Taxes Mr. Greg Abbott signed into law couple weeks ago to a measure that would prohibit in Texas abortions as early as six weeks before some women know they are pregnant. The measure, which went into effect last month, is the most restrictive in the country. Abortion rights advocates and the U.S. Justice Department have challenged the Texas law in state and federal courts, arguing that it violates Roe v. Wade.
Numerous speakers shared and spoke about the feeling of sadness and Angriness over the Texas law. Speakers include Tracy Katz Muhl, Catherine Wilson, Sara Khan, Sue Gregory, Melissa Chroman Prober and others.

The rally was finished in 45 minutes, after the crowd marched down to Lehigh Avenue and Glenview Avenue intersection holding signs and chanting for women's rights.
