Good Friday CrossWalk Witness

Christians line up with posters and wooden cross in Des Plaines on Good Friday

The Des Plaines Ministerial Association's annual observance takes a new turn. "Today, when the cross and all it stands for is seen as no longer relevant in the lives of many, there is an urgent need for a powerful ongoing and public statement of faith. The centrality of the Cross and the celebration of the Good Friday message across the denominations, provide the opportunity for a united witness."

This Good Friday, April 14, there will be an outdoor -- CrossWalk -- opportunity for Christians in Des Plaines to silently declare their faith to all those who drive or walk past 1st Congregational Church, 766 Graceland Avenue. In addition to a large wooden cross, posters will display phrases from the Apostle's Creed. The CrossWalk witness will take place from 11:30 to 11:50, followed at noon by the indoor service.
