Homeschoolers to write letters to military personnel
Homeschool Adventures program, "Letters to Service Members," Wednesday, March 4, from 1-3 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center

Homeschool families are invited to attend the Homeschool Adventures program, “Letters to Service Members,” Wednesday, March 4, from 1-3 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson Street.
Students will learn about communication in World War II and then write letters to men and women who are currently serving in the military. Des Plaines resident Colonel (Ret.) Jill Morgenthaler, who is an author, leadership expert, and international speaker, has offered to “drop in and tell the children how much the letters mean to us.”
Homeschool Adventures programs are designed for children, ages 5-12, with an adult and last for two hours. The fee is $3 per child for non-members, $2 for members. The homeschool session is just one of many World War II-related programs that the History Center has lined up this year to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.
