Des Plaines has received four proposals for vacant property near Mannheim and Higgins roads, but none of them include a possible hotel, the Journal and Topics reported.
The newspaper reported that city officials had once envisioned one or two hotels on the 5-acre parcel north of McDonald's – but those plans never really materialized. Last year the city asked for developers to submit plans – four did and those plans now are being reviewed.
