International Singer’s day celebration held in Chicagoland
The Purpose of the event was Join together in one platform, singing together to connect people and communities around the Chicagoland area.
On Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at Ashton Place in Willow Brook, Illinois history was made by Urdu Samaj of Chicago along with Co organizers Pratibha Jairath and Altaf Bukhari. Hold an Impressive, Beautiful 2nd International Singer day celebrated in Chicagoland.
During the Opening Speech Mr. Ali Khan Said, “My humble thanks and appreciations to our esteemed guest Ms. Neeta Bhushan, Consul General of India, Chicago IL and I also wish to thank Mr. Anil Loomba CEO of Home Mortgage Solutions for gracing and honoring the International Singers day.”
Urdu Samaj of Chicago also feels extremely proud in presenting The Diplomacy Excellence Award to Ms. Neeta Bhushan, Honorable Consul General of India, on her exemplary public diplomacy efforts in Illinois with the state and India Diaspora.
The Founder and President of Urdu Samaj of Chicago Mr. Ali Khan are a well-known Community member and Social Worker Said during an Interview with Local Media. He said “Urdu Samaj of Chicago was founded by Several Community members in Last year. The purpose of this organization is to provide a platform to Urdu lover, Community and Engage in Positive Activities between Youth and adults promoting Sports Music, Culture and Literature.”
Urdu Samaj of Chicago is totally non-profit and is working toward the promotion of social, cultural activities between all ages. Organizers conduct several programs during this year such as sports Day and Eid festival Successfully.
Urdu language is a very popular language in the world. Urdu is spoken by more than 100 million people, mainly in Pakistan and India. But thousand and thousand people who live in USA also spoke in daily basis. This sold-out event was a hit with more than 250 attendees and the attendance was so large and impressive.
Urdu Samaj recognizes the ongoing effort towards quality jobs and access to community in Journalism and singer and the nation’s commitment to Community Mr. Syed Khalil Ullah and Gurmeet Singh Dhalwan received awards and certificates for their contribution in Media and Journalism and outreach work.
Several individual singers and Communities also received Awards, including Avni, Raju Bankapur, Farah Salam, Parvez Bhai, Abdul Ghafoor etc.
The master of ceremony was Shabana Rahman and Pratibha Jairath. Welcome and opening remarks were conducted by The Founder and President of Urdu Samaj of Chicago Mr. Ali Khan. He also highlighted the achievements of the Urdu Samaj for the year 2018 and 2019.
A scrumptious dinner and an elaborate dessert were served to all after the awards ceremony ended. Musical Entertainment was performed by several well-known Chicagoland Singers including Parwaz Ekram, Pratibha Jairath, Farah Salam, Manmeet Kaur, and Abdul Ghafoor. Pratibha Jairath performs heart touching Qawwali. Madhura Sane presented a couple of dance performances. Neeta Bhushan, Consul General of India received special plaques from Ali Khan (President of Urdu Samaj of Chicago).
At the end of the event President of Urdu Samaj of Chicago Mr. Ali Khan came to stage thank tall the Sponsors, Grand sponsors Mr. Anil Loomba.
