Islamic Community Center Des Plaines Elect New President & Board

Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, Board of Directors election took place in the month of October 31st, later week elect new President

The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines was Built in 1989 for Muslim worshipers living around Des Plaines. Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, Board of Directors election took place in the month of October 31st, 2021 and previous Board members Completed their term on October 31 and Started a new term in November. The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago Election Committee was responsible for all communication, nomination and holding an election. A record number of community members ran for Board of Directors; All nine seats were opened. All new Elected Directors are responsible for administering the day-to-day affairs of the organization, Managing, and maintaining the organization facilities and properties, managing projects as approved by the board, and performing such acts that may be necessary for achieving the goals, vision, and overall objectives of the organization.


The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago concluded the election peacefully with the announcement of the Board of Directors election results. The following persons were elected to the nine posts Imad Achmar, Ghulam Farooqie, Faiyaz Hassan Fareed, Asif Iqbal, Junaid Abdul Muqueet, Mushtaq Khan, Mohammed Raziuddin, Syed Azimullah, Mohammad Amin Vali,
The newly constituted Board of Directors held its first meeting on Friday, November 5th, 2021. During the meeting, a New Board Management Team Elected New President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasure. The following persons were elected Imad Achmar (President), Mushtaq Khan (Vice President), Faiyaz Hassan Fareed (General Secretary), Ghulam Farooqie (Treasure).

During an interview newly elected President Imad Achmar said,” I participated in the election because I felt a dire need to help the community. Our newly elected team will recover a better image of the Islamic center. I will be in the role of volunteer in the Muslim community."
