Kelly Maron Horvath running for Maine Township Trustee
Kelly aim to bring a fresh perspective to the position, with an eye towards transparency, communication and thoughtful government

Kelly Maron Horvath, a former high school no stranger to Maine Township and Des Plaines is running for Maine Township Trustee. Rendering to her resume she is a small business owner, community organizer and social activist. She has been involved in continuing education, providing Supports, modifications for Students. As a teacher, she works hard to provide appropriate and relevant services to students in general education.
During an Interview grassroots Kelly Maron Horvath said, “I have volunteered and served the community for over 15 years. I know the structure of the Township Trustee system very well. Past several years worked to increase community engagement in local politics and voter turnout through founding the group Des Plaines Forward. Currently I am a member of the SPEAK Des Plaines, and Des Plaines Families Against Racism, both are local activist groups in Chicagoland. If I Elected, I will bring my experience and the best skills to the Township board, including finance, budgeting, planning and community engagement."
Kelly feels, “My personal goal, professional experience and community service will be helpful to our township community. I will develop a close relationship with Township and its residents to solve all the issues. I will share my skill and experience and help the Board focus on township development and service to residents of Maine Township. During the time of my life I learn about local government finance and budgeting. My goals are to increase the visibility in the community of the many resources offered by Maine Township.”

Kelly concluded by sharing her opinions, “I understand the importance of Maine Township resources for families, particularly when so many have been impacted by COVID-19. At a time when many are struggling to pay the bills, there is also the responsibility of elected officials to be fiscally prudent. I will work to build strong partnerships with all the Elected Board officials and community stakeholders.”
