Man Charged After Lunging At Officer In Des Plaines: Police

DES PLAINES, IL — A man was charged with aggravated assault to a peace officer after police said he lunged at an officer while being questioned outside a Des Plaines hotel.

Des Plaines police responded at about 11:08 p.m. Saturday, to the Holiday Inn in the 3000 block of South Mannheim Road for a report of an unwanted person.

Police said the man, identified as Musatdin Muadinov, 37, had previously been barred from the property on multiple occasions but returned Saturday night.

Officers found Muadinov sitting near the front of the hotel and asked him for identification. He told officers he did not have his driver's license but provided his information, according to police.

While speaking with officers, police allege Muadinov balled his fists and lunged at one officer in what appeared to be an attempt to strike him.

The officer grabbed Muadinov and told him he was arrested, at which point police said Muadinov pulled his arms away and tensed his body while officers tried to handcuff him.

Police eventually took Muadinov to the ground and placed him in custody.

While being taken to the Des Plaines Police Department, Muadinov allegedly threatened to harm officers, police said.

Because of the circumstances, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office was contacted and approved a felony charge.

Muadinov was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault to a peace officer, two misdemeanor counts of resisting a peace officer and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to real property.

He was cited and released with court information, according to police.
