Man In Construction Outfit Tried To Rob Des Plaines Bank
The FBI said a man wearing a yellow helmet attempted to rob a bank inside a Jewel-Osco around noon Wednesday.

DES PLAINES, IL — A man wearing a yellow construction hat and reflective vest tried to rob a grocery store bank branch in Des Plaines on Wednesday, according to the FBI. The unidentified man showed up at the TCF Bank branch at the Des Plaines Jewel Osco, 1500 Lee St., around noon.
The robber was described as between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, in his late 30s to early 40s and white, the FBI said. He had a medium build and was estimated to weigh between 180 and 200 pounds.
The man wore a long-sleeved blue, grey and white plaid shirt, black gloves, dirty jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt under the worksite gear, according to the FBI. The man also had a goatee and scruffy beard.

The FBI has offered a reward for up to $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the man, who should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information was asked to contact the FBI's Chicago field office at 312-421-6700.
