Man Wrestles Gun From Home Invaders, Fires At Them

CHICAGO, IL — Three suspects broke into an apartment on the city's Northwest Side Sunday night, police said. The home invasion happened just before midnight in the 5500 block of North Chester Avenue in the O'Hare neighborhood. Police said the home invaders beat and pistol-whipped two men inside, and demanded cash and other valuables.

One of the victims was able to wrestle a gun away from an attacker, and fired at the suspects, police said.

The victim may have shot one of the suspects before they ran to a black SUV and silver minivan in a nearby alley and took off, police said.

No one was in custody.
