MCC celebrate Milestones 50th Anniversary was an enormous Gala

The Muslim Community Center, Chicago organization celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 with its annual gala, appropriately titled “To make MCC a Welcoming inclusive and well governed organization.” Held at the Skokie North shore Holiday Inn. The largest and oldest democratic Muslim organization in the Chicagoland area was founded in 1969. A group of a few members of Muslim meets and Join together 50 years ago and decide to open a Mosque for community needed.

Later that year, the name, Muslim Community Center Inc. was incorporated as a Not-for-Profit organization. It is one of the oldest and is considered the mother organization of many other American Muslim groups and mosques’ one of the premier centers of excellence in community service, outreach and education for Muslims in the greater Chicago land area.

Sold-out event was a hit with more than 1500 attendees. The attendance was so large and impressive. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Mayor of Skokie George Van Dusen, Mayor of Morton Grove Dan DiMaria, Illinois Senator Ram Villivalam and several others elected official attended the historical event.

The event was emceed by renowned Ash-har Qureshi. The event began with a stunning recitation of the Quran and translation by the MCC academy School student. Welcome and opening remarks were conducted by MCC President Kamran Hussain. He welcomes everyone explains about MCC outlined the goals, activities and highlighted Forthcoming activities. Mr. Kamran said,” Our Muslim Community Center has grown in the last few decades and it now runs two additional mosques and schools educational center. We also offers many different programs to Muslims and non-Muslims in the Chicagoland area, including outreach, health screening programs, and counseling. Today we are honoring our founding members.”

Through the video documentary MCC shared its past and present activities and the upcoming exciting projects that it has been busy with over the past years.

A panel discussion was conducted including Q and A with the several Past Presidents hosted by Ali Quadri. To learn and know their experiences and achievement.

Another panel of MCC’S 2nd Generation discussion was held hosted by Khadija Ahmed (Vice President of the MCC)

MCC Presented its Award to Amanat Ullah Ansari and Syeda Afifa Quadri. This award is for their commitment to serving those in need, and their commitment to personal development and represented community roles.

Several organization Support and Sponsor this event Including GIOGC, IFANCA, Zakat Foundation of America and many others.

Special Prayers were performed for founding members those pass away few years ago.
