Missing Elderly Des Plaines Man Found Safe

A missing elderly man was found on New Year’s Eve in a suburban hotel, police said last week.

William R. Anderson, 79, was reported missing on Dec. 17 and police initially said they believed he may attempt to harm himself. He was found in good condition during the afternoon of Dec. 31 by Morton Grove police at a hotel in the 9100 block of Waukegan Road.

He was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation.
