Mount Prospect Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash

A passenger in the crash died after being thrown from the motorcycle Sunday morning, authorities said.

LAKE COUNTY, IL – A 62-year-old Mount Prospect woman was killed Sunday morning after she was thrown from the motorcycle she was riding on in a single-vehicle crash in North Barrington, authorities said. The collision occurred just before noon when a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 62-year-old Mount Prospect man was headed west on Miller Road just east of Oak Hill Road. A preliminary investigation shows the motorcyclist lost control and hit a curb, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle, authorities said. They were both wearing helmets.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver was treated and released from Condell Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
