Muslims Mark Eid Al-Adha prayer across Chicagoland with zeal

Eid al-Adha is celebrated by Muslims all over the world including Chicago area, as a major holiday for a period of three days.

Millions of Muslims from across the globe, including the Muslim community in Chicago area gathered Tuesday morning for their annual Eid Al-Adha prayers. Gathering and Prayers were held in more than 200 places across Chicagoland on July 20th, 2021.

Large gatherings were allowed in Chicago with restrictions imposed. Three or more back-to-back Prayer services were held in the several Islamic Centers across Chicago and Suburbs. Schedule and Pray location were Posted on the website and Social media page.

Chicago physicians had urged unvaccinated people to exercise restraint and adhere to health protocols because many countries battle the Delta COVID variant.

Same time last year Muslims in the Chicago area observed Eid prayers without hugging or shaking hands. But this year they allow hugging or shaking hands only to people who are vaccinated.

Many places still asked to bring their own prayer mats to perform prayers.

Many Prayers observed outdoors in most masjid, but indoor congregations perform in various locations also.

The biggest mass Eid al-Adha Prayer programed at 10:00 a.m. at Seatgeek Stadium where hundreds of congregants joined.

Islamic Center of Naperville (ICN), Masjid Al-Huda-Schaumburg, Islamic Foundation-Villa Park, Islamic Foundation North, Libertyville, Muslim Community Center, Morton Grove and several others offer multiple and open-air prayers.

Many of Muslims were happy about the Arrangement of prayers, many of them said, “We are happy because we have compared to this last year privilege opportunity for many of them to came back to the mosque to perform our religious ceremony.”
