Mystic Waters Opens for the Season

Hundreds gathered as temperatures reached 90 this weekend.

Hundreds lined up at Mystic Waters Family Aquatic Center, 2025 Miner Street, for the June 4 opening, as temperatures reached 90 for the first time this summer.

One of the largest water parks in Northern Illinois, Mystic Waters is open for pre-season hours, from noon until 7 p.m. through June 10. During the regular season, June 11-August 21, Mystic Waters is open weekdays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and weekends, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

The water park features two 37 foot slides in Otter’s Run, drop slides and cliff dive platforms in Sea Lion Falls, a 550 foot lazy river in Crocodile Cove where patrons can float on inner tubes, a zero depth leisure pool, and Beluga Beach, a splash pad area with a jungle gym on a non-slip surface with water sprays and fountains for tots and non-swimmers.
