New Mariano's Adds Union Jobs In Des Plaines
375 new union jobs touted as 41st Mariano's location opens Wednesday.

DES PLAINES, IL — A new Mariano's grocery store opened Wednesday as part of a public-private partnership with the Des Plaines Park District.
The new location has added 375 union jobs to the area, while Mariano's has pledged $670,000 to improve parks, according to an announcement from State Senator Laura Murphy (D, IL-28).
“These 375 new jobs are proof that Illinois is ready and open for business,” Murphy said, taking the opportunity to bash Governor Bruce Rauner. “The governor’s anti-worker agenda will do nothing to create a single job in Illinois. He needs to drop his radical agenda and focus on passing a budget to create economic stability in our state.”

Mariano’s President Den Rosanova, along with Murphy and other local officials, was on hand for the official opening of the newest, 37,000-square foot location of the grocery store, a subsidiary of the regional chain Roundy's.
“Our primary focus is to provide every customer with the freshest food possible, while creating a distinct, one-stop shopping experience,” said Don Rosanova, president of Mariano’s. “We will help our customers shop well, eat well and live well, whether they come to grocery shop, relax with a glass of wine or meet up with friends and family for dinner.”
