Oakton Board of Trustees candidates’ forum scheduled March 6
Candidates looking to serve on the Oakton District 535 Board of Trustees will attend a public forum at the college on March 6.

The public is invited to attend an Oakton Community College Board of Trustees Candidates’ Forum from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, in Room 1604, at the college’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet three of the four candidates to serve on the Oakton District 535 Board of Trustees.
Sponsored by the Oakton Community College Faculty Association’s political action committee, candidates will be available to answer questions from the audience and give their positions on election issues. This is an opportunity for stakeholders in the college to meet, hear from and question the people who will have a hand in shaping the direction of Oakton.

- Carmina Cortes Gonzalez, Des Plaines
- Travis Zimmermann, Northbrook
Skokie resident Paul Kotowski is unable to attend but will have a prepared statement available at the forum.
The candidates are vying for two open seats vacated by incumbents Jody Wadhwa of Northbrook and Patricia Harada of Wilmette, who are not running for reelection. Trustees serve for a six-year term.
