Oakton joins global campaign to prevent violence against women with benefit productions of “The Vagina Monologues”

Oakton will host three benefit productions of "The Vagina Monologues," Feb. 10 – 12.

Oakton Community College’s Studio One Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, will be the site of three benefit performances of “The Vagina Monologues,” Feb. 10 – 12, sponsored by Women’s and Gender Studies and the Performing Arts Department.

These staged readings of Eve Ensler’s powerful masterpiece are being performed as part of Oakton’s participation in the V-day movement to stop violence and to empower women and girls. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will support local organizations that provide services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence—Northwest CASA family shelter and The Harbour rape crisis center and shelter.

Show times are 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12.
