Oakton presents “The Foreigner” – a hilarious farce – March 2-12

The award-winning play "The Foreigner" runs March 2-5 and March 9-12 at Oakton Community College.

Larry Shue’s award-winning play, “The Foreigner,” hits the stage March 2-5 and March 9-12, at Oakton Community College’s Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

This farce, set in rural Georgia, focuses on the difference between what people say when they think no one is listening and what they say in public. Written in 1984, the play skewers the two faces of the “moral majority” and roasts them over a growing fire of revelatory comedy.

Opening night is Thursday, March 2, at 8 p.m., with a special $5 preview. Regular performances are scheduled at 8 p.m., Friday March 3; 8 p.m., Saturday, March 4 and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 5. Additional shows will take place 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 9; 8 p.m., Friday March 10; 8 p.m., Saturday, March 11 and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 12.
