Oakton Workforce Solutions to host March 14 small business expo

Oakton's small business expo is geared to to provide valuable resources and information to benefit new or existing companies.

Learn how your business can gain the edge at Oakton Community College’s small business expo from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at the college’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue.

“The ‘Gaining the Edge’ Small Business Expo is an opportunity for new and existing businesses to connect with Oakton Community College’s Workforce Solutions, the Small Business Administration and local vendors,” says Director of Continuing Education, Training and Workforce Development Ruben Howard II, Ph.D. “The goal of the expo is to provide valuable resources and information that can benefit their businesses, whether new or existing.”

Presented by Oakton Community College Workforce Solutions, the event is free for local start-ups and established businesses and includes guest speakers and workshops from industry experts regarding marketing, operations and home-based businesses.

Author Kevin Sheridan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. The internationally-recognized speaker and author will focus on employee engagement, culture and leadership. His latest book, “The Virtual Manager,” explores how to most effectively manage remote workers.

The schedule for the day, which includes six 50-minute workshops and is subject to change, includes the following presentations:
