Pakistan Consul Tariq Karim hosts Open House reception on Eid-ul-Fitr
Eid celebration was attended by approximately 400 guests which included members of the Pakistani American community from all walks of life
The Islamic Festival Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a holy month of fasting, Pakistan’s Consul General Tariq Karim celebrated an “Open House Eid al-Fitr” at the Consul General’s Residence on Friday, April 21, 2023.
The grand celebration was attended by approximately 400 guests which included members of the Pakistani American community from all walks of life including local dignitaries/elected officials, professionals, entrepreneurs, representatives of consular corps and the media. The Consul General, Mr. Tariq Karim, and his wife, Mrs. Aasma Tariq, personally received and welcomed guests.
The attendees lauded the Consul General’s initiative to reach out and bring together many community members from across the US Midwest, their families, and local officials to celebrate Eid. Celebrating Eid-al Fitr at the Consul General’s residence, which was decorated with Pakistani handicrafts and had a sumptuous spread of Pakistani cuisine, made guests feel as though they were in Pakistan.

The Consul General extended his warmest Eid greetings to the community members. He highlighted Eid as an opportunity to share happiness, promote harmony, unity, and empathy towards each other, irrespective of caste, color, or religion. He stated that celebrating Eid together also demonstrates our shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous world.
The Consul General urged the Pakistani American community to continue to play their role as bridge-builders to promote Pak-US partnership. The event concluded with prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan
