Pakistan’s Consul General , Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted an Eid Open House

Pakistan’s Consul General in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted an Eid Open House at his residence on March 30, 2025, to mark the joyous festival of Eid al-Fitr.

Members of the media, academics, political figures, local dignitaries, and federal and state officials were among the 400 attendees of this grand event.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted an Eid Open House at his residence on March 30, 2025, to mark the joyous festival of Eid al-Fitr.

Over 400 people attended this big event, including members of the media, academics, political figures, local dignitaries, federal and state officials, and Pakistani-Americans from all walks of life. Both Consul General Tariq Karim and Mrs. Asma Tariq gave each person a personal greeting.

On the occasion of Eid, visitors appreciated the efforts of the Consul General in bringing together a large and diverse group of members of the Midwest community, their families, and local officials. “This is a great opportunity to build friendships,” he said. The residence was decorated with Pakistani handicrafts and a delicious variety of Pakistani cuisine was served, creating a festive atmosphere that made them feel like they were in Pakistan.

Consul General Tariq Karim welcomed the community and extended Eid greetings. Regardless of one’s background, he emphasized, Eid provides an opportunity to spread joy and promote compassion, harmony, and unity. He emphasized that we should all celebrate Eid together and take pride in our collective efforts to build a prosperous and peaceful world.
Congressman Jonathan Jackson, DuPage County,
Sheriff James Mandrake, DuPage Attorney General Bob Berlin, Hinsdale Mayor Greg Hart, and several other dignitaries and officials were present.
To further the Pakistan-US partnership, the Consul General participated with community members, elected officials, and local leaders. The event concluded with a prayer for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
