Mr. Haris Ahmed, received the highly coveted Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC) award for Exemplary Community Service Excellence

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, prominent Pakistani American businessman, entrepreneur, and community leader, Mr. Haris Ahmed, received the highly coveted Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC) award for Exemplary Community Service Excellence. This ceremony was held in front of 1,200 people during the 41st Annual Lunar New Year Gala titled, "Together for a Brighter Tomorrow". The event and celebration were held at Drury Lane Theater in Oak Brook Terrace.

Renowned American businessman, entrepreneur, and community leader, Haris Ahmed, is of Pakistani descent. He founded Pragmatium Consulting Group, Inc. and serves as its CEO. Most recently, Haris presided over OPEN Chicago (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs Network) as its chairman and president. He has been instrumental in encouraging community members to be involved in civic, interfaith, and political activities. As a Muslim American, Pakistani American, and AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander) leader, he has been invited to numerous White House events in recognition of his community service.
The Lunar New Year is another name for the Chinese New Year. Not only is it observed in China and other countries throughout the world, but most American cities also participate in the festivities. Chicago typically greets the Chinese New Year with customary celebrations and enthusiasm. The Asian American Coalition of Chicago's 41st Annual Lunar Year Celebration Gala, which was hosted by the Japanese American Community of Chicago, was the most well-known of all these events.
"Our Coalition is so excited to share this event with you as we honor the contributions of these individuals and their organizations," Mr. Akihiko Shono, who chaired the event, said in an interview. “AACC honors several deserving recipients with awards. These honorees have contributed the most this year in achieving community member goals.”
"I am so humbled to receive this award," Haris remarked upon accepting the honor. “In this period of social and racial reckoning, minority representation and leadership in business and civic life is more crucial than ever. As we all work together, we continue to strive toward the perfect union, as envisioned by our founding fathers.”
