Pakistani Physicians Society Annual Memorial Day Picnic Huge Success
Pakistani Physicians Society, Illinois hosted its annual Memorial Day Picnic on Monday, May 26, 2025, at St. James Farm Forest Preserve
The annual Memorial Day Picnic of the Pakistani Physicians Society, Illinois was held in St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois, on Monday, May 26, 2025. There had been over 200 PPS members, visitors, and dignitaries at the exciting event. Tariq Karim of the Pakistani Consulate General was also present. Excellent live barbecue was provided, and delectable falooda and unique paan marked the event's conclusion.
President Tehmina Bajwa expressed gratitude to everyone who came and helped make the occasion a huge success. Additionally, she thanked his team for putting together such a great event, giving special thanks to Mrs. Sobia Katariwala, Dr. Shahid Ahsan, who will be the PPS president in 2026, Dr. Tariq Hameed, Secretary, Treasurer, Dr. Iram Ahmed, Councilors, Dr. Kishwar Ali, Dr. Faiza Kareemi, Dr. Samina Chaudhry Khan, Dr. Uzma Naeem Syed, Dr. Sarwat Shaheen, Dr. Nuzhat Chalisa, Mr. Aamir Chalisia, and Asad Bajwa Along with elected officials and Pakistani-American community members, Consul General Tariq Karim attended the Pakistan-descent Physicians Society's (PPS) annual picnic.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General Mr Tariq Karim appreciated the contribution of PPS for their charitable and capacity building work over the years, both in the US and Pakistan, including during the He encouraged the Pakistani-American community and professionals to continue to play their active role in the socio-economic development of the two countries, especially through exchange of ideas, expertise and technology.

On the community calendar, the yearly picnic has grown to be a much anticipated occasion. The Pakistani Physicians Society was pleased to observe that the number of attendees is not only increasing year but also varies in age. A picnic is a wonderful opportunity for a group that values respecting Pakistani physicians to demonstrate its commitment to this cause since it unites the community in the sharing of food, the listening of well-known music, and the celebration of the earth's abundance. Information leaflets on each picnic table highlighted aspects of the traditional Pakistani farming method that make it sustainable and healthful—beneficial to the land and the human body—in an effort to emphasize the point.
One prominent group of Pakistani physicians in Illinois who are not affiliated with any political party or ideology in Pakistan or the US is the Pakistan Physician Society. This completely nonprofit organization strives to further social, cultural, educational, and humanitarian goals. overseen by the Board of Trustees, the Executive Council's office holders, and our volunteer leadership.
