Pakistani Physicians Society gave a Huge Donation to the Church

Pakistani Physician Society has been actively working during the pandemic to make a difference and add value to the lives of many.

The Parroquia Luterana Sagrado Corazon Church received a Donation last Friday to support indigent children from Pakistani Decent Physician Society.

Friday December 11, 2020, PPS with collaboration of APPNA provided funds for a project to support indigent children of Waukegan, Illinois. It was initiated by PPS and funds matched by APPNA.

Pakistan Physicians Society affectionately known as PPS was founded by Dr. Nasir Rana in 1979. The Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) is a part and local chapter of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA). APPNA is one of the largest ethnic medical societies in North America.PPS is a totally non-profit organization and is working toward the promotion of social, cultural, educational and humanitarian goals.

Pakistani Physician Society has been actively working during the pandemic to make a difference and add value to the lives of many. This time PPS raised funds and collaborated with APPNA to help Parroquia Luterana Sagrado Corazon Church located at 658- Grand Ave., Waukegan IL 60085. PPS donated a check in the amount of $4000. The funds will be used to provide assistance to kids in the indigent and destitute population in the city of Waukegan.

Dr Amin Nadeem (PPS president), Dr. Samina Hijab (President-Elect) & Mrs. Farah Nadeem visited Waukegan City Hall to deliver a check to the Pastor of the church. Also present on occasion were Mayor of Waukegan, Mr. Sam Cunningham and Deputy Mayor Mrs. Susana Figueroa. The Pastor and Waukegan mayor appreciated PPS efforts to assist the indigent population during these difficult times and indicated their willingness to work with PPS in future as well.

PPS appreciates APPNA leadership specially Dr Aisha Zafar chair of APPNA SWDRC & Dr. Sajid Chaudhary Chair APPNA COVID-19 task force for their continuous support to PPS during year 2020.

During an interview with Sam Cunningham, Mayor of Waukegan, “The Parroquia Luterana Sagrado Corazon Church will have a Christmas gift card giveaway for its congregational children and families in need. The children need our support from our community. These Children are Currently facing immense challenges during Pandemic.”

At the end of the event Dr. Amin Nadeem thanked all attendees and the PPS team for help and support, especially Dr. Sajid Mehmood and Dr. Samina Hijab who helped to arrange the event.
