Pakistani Physicians Society held its Annual Gala to award physicians
Importance of health care for all social, medical, and humanitarian reasons in Pakistan and the United States was emphasized at the meeting
The Excellence in Service Awards program recognizes doctors and other healthcare professionals who most exemplify the values of leadership, volunteerism, community service, and dedication to helping underserved communities. An annual dinner extravaganza is held in Chicago by the Pakistan Decent Physician Society to honor the honorees. Saturday November 16th 2024.
On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Pakistan Physician Society (PPS) conducted its annual conference in the Marriott Oak Brook, IL, grand ballroom. The Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA) has a local organization, the Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) of Illinois.
Dr. Shahid Ahsan served as the maestro. Verse recitations from the Holy Qur'an kicked off the session. National anthems were played to start the proceedings, including the American and Pakistani national anthems. Everyone in attendance sang the Pakistani anthem.

Over 400 people attended this sold-out event, making it a success. The turnout was astoundingly enormous. The treasurer and secretary presented their reports to begin the formal business meeting. Danny K. Davis, a congressman, was the guest. Dr. Naseem Shekhani, the former president of the APPNA, and Mr. Tariq Kareem, Consulate General of Pakistan Chicago, were present at the ceremony.
A social hour, dinner, and a quick discussion with updates on previous and ongoing events were all part of the evening.

Dr. Tahmina Bajwa gave the welcome and introductory comments. As the event's chair, Dr. Shahid Ahsan then presented the attendees to the 2024 PPS executive body. The PPS Bot Chair Report is presented by Dr. Ameera Rehman. An yearly report was given by Dr. Tariq Hameed, the 2024 Treasurer.
The Pakistan Physician Society is a well-known association of Pakistani doctors in Illinois who are not connected to any political party or ideology in Pakistan or the United States. This entirely non-profit organization works to further humanitarian, cultural, educational, and social objectives. led by our volunteer leadership, the Executive Council's office holders, and the Board of Trustees.
PPS's current president, Dr. Tariq Butt, addressed and highlighted the organization's accomplishments for 2024. Congressmen Danny K. Davis and Raja Krishnamoorthi from Illinois were also speaking at the occasion. Dr. Sohail Masood, the founder and CEO of KabaFusion, delivered the keynote address, and other people were given prizes. The awards honor those who have significantly improved the quality of PPS services and creative activities for the Chicagoland community.
Other speakers were Dr. Tahmina Bajwa, the 2025 president-elect, Mr. Tariq Kareem, Consulate General of Pakistan Chicago and prominent Pakistani doctors from the Chicago region, including Dr. Ameera Rehman and Dr. Asif Syed.
Numerous physicians and medical professionals received lifetime achievement and humanitarian awards. The award for Health Care Leader of the Year went to Mr. Muhammad Ouedraogo. Along with participating in medical aid and other philanthropic endeavors in Chicago and other US cities, he had demonstrated his abilities in his profession and accomplished a humanitarian aim.Dr. Masood Sohail Received the President's Award PPS provides The Baitulmaal with a sizable donation to assist and further the welfare, education, and health initiatives in Pakistan as well as the water project. Underprivileged populations worldwide get life-saving, life-sustaining, and life-enriching humanitarian relief from Baitulmaal.
Everyone was invited to a delicious meal and a lavish desert. The renowned Humaira Arshad presented musical entertainment.
