The Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) held its annual Ramadan Iftar on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at a lavish banquet. The Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) is a local chapter of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA) of Illinois.
The Master of Ceremony was Dr. Tariq Hameed. The session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, Naat Sharif and Hamd. By young children
The sell-out event was a success with over 200 attendees. It was an incredibly large attendance. To begin the formal business session, the Secretary and Treasurer presented their reports. Over 200 doctors from Pakistan. The event was attended by community members as well as Mr. Tariq Karim, Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago.
The evening included food, a social hour, and a short discussion with updates on past and present events.

The Pakistan Physician Society is a prominent group of Pakistani physicians in Illinois. The goals of this completely non-profit organization include social, cultural, educational, and humanitarian outreach. Through the Board of Trustees, Executive Council office holders, and our volunteer leadership.
Dr. Imtiaz Arain spoke and highlighted the free clinic.
A delicious Iftar meal was served to all. The iftar table included Rooh Afza, a beverage frequently consumed during Ramadan, along with a range of typical Pakistani foods, such as Pakoras, Samosas, and Dahi Bhalla. In keeping with Pakistani hospitality, the feast also included traditional desserts.
