Park District Celebrates Groundbreaking of Arndt Aquatic and Recreation Facility

The Des Plaines Park District Arndt Park Aquatic Facility groundbreaking took place at Arndt Park on October 13, 2022. In attendance were Des Plaines Park District Executive Director Don Miletic, Board President Erin Doerr and Commissioners, Mayor of the City of Des Plaines Andrew Goczkowski and Alderman, and Cordogan Clark & Associates Architecture, Engineering and Construction. Also involved in the project are Water Technology Inc. Pool Planning, Design and Engineer, Upland Design Ltd, Landscape Architecture and Park Planning, and Erikson Engineering Associates Ltd.

The development of the proposed Arndt Aquatic & Recreation Facility is a revitalization project which will improve recreation opportunities in this area of Des Plaines. Arndt Park is a 13.84 acre Community Park located in the southeast section of Des Plaines.

New construction includes the addition of concession front office, outdoor accessible rest rooms, locker rooms, playground renovation, walking pathways, basketball court, and picnic shelters.
