Person Found Dead Inside RV During Fire: Des Plaines PD
An investigation into the Sunday morning fire is ongoing.
DES PLAINES, IL β A person was found dead Sunday morning during an emergency response to a report of a recreational vehicle being on fire. The identity of the deceased had not been released as of Sunday afternoon pending notification of the next of kin and a further investigation into the incident.
Des Plaines police and fire department personnel responded to the Sunday morning fire at around 6:45 a.m. in the 2600 block of Scott Street. Upon arrival, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and found the deceased inside the vehicle.
The Des Plaines Fire Department, State Fire Marshal's investigators, and Des Plaines Police detectives areactively conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Updates will be provided as more details become available.

In a news release, the City of Des Plaines extended its condolences "to those affected by this tragic event."
