The winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, “Disgraced,” will be presented as a staged reading 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Oakton Community College's Studio One Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

Penned by noted playwright Ayad Akhtar, “Disgraced” focuses on Amir Kapoor, a successful Pakistani-American lawyer who is rapidly moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots. His wife, Emily, is white and an artist whose work is influenced by Islamic imagery. When the couple hosts a dinner party, what starts out as a friendly conversation escalates into something far more damaging.

Tickets are $8 for general admission. Purchase online at www.oakton.edu/tickets or call 847-635-1900.
