Rain Puts a Damper on Car Show at Fall Fest

Expectations are low for the classic car show at Fall Fest this year.

Des Plaines Patch swung by Fall Fest at Lake Park this morning to inquire about the days activities, which are running behind due to inclement weather. Mike Charewicz of Accurate Auto Clinic and a member of the Chamber of Commerce was optimistic that the rain would let up and that the activities for the day would continue but about two hours behind schedule.

Some who were not so optimistic were members of the Chicagoland Classic Car Club, who had arranged the car show, which is expected to run from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. "With the ground wet like this, people aren't going to be bringing their cars out," said President Russ De Salvo. There was discussion of holding the show on Sunday, but because it was not advertised with a rain date there is no way of notifying patrons and participants. They plan to put a rain date on the show for next year.
