Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital Fundraising Gala held in Chicago
The Trust aims to build a series of hospitals in various cities of Pakistan to bring cancer care closer to patients
A fundraising Sufi night featuring renowned Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwal enthralled the Chicagoland people on Friday November 08th 2019 evening. The event was a great success with about 400 individuals attended the event. The wonderful fundraiser was hosted in the ballroom of Shalimar Banquet.
The goal to arrange this event was to collect Fund and support the Pakistan’s Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in building new clinical tower in Lahore.
Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research & Center (SKMCH&RC) has started a series of fundraising events in America. Several fundraising events, so far in this regard, are arranged in Los Angeles, San Francisco and several others States.
The Program was started 7 p.m. The event was emceed by Ms. Nabeela Rasheed. The evening began with Tilawat E Quran. The program included dinner, speeches and past and upcoming project presentations. The Guest of Honor was Mr. Javed Ahmed Umrani (Consul-General of Pakistan in Chicago).
Re known Business Man Munir Chaudry and well-known surgeon Dr. Mohammed Murtaza Aryan came to the stage and spoke about the great potential of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Dr. Faisal Sultan. (CEO & Consultant Physician. Medicine and Infectious Diseases.) Who came from Pakistan provides a complete report of past and current project throughout the power point presentations. He highlighted the mission and program of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. He said, “I am here today to talk about the new project. The new clinical tower is planned as a nine-level building and will represent the largest expansion the Hospital has witnessed since its inauguration, nearly twenty-five years ago. The new clinical tower will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and will be built according to the latest international healthcare standards.”
Dr. Sultan continued, “Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital treat 75% of its patient free of cost the hospital required a huge annual budget. SKMCH&RC not only provides state-of-the-art cancer treatment to underprivileged cancer patients, but also takes steps to raise awareness about the disease at national and international platforms. Our organization received several local and international recognition, including the Joint Commission International's Gold Seal of Approval and the World Health Organization's Foundation Prize.”
A recorded video message of the Pakistan Prime minister Imran Khan was played at the event.
Mr. Kareem Irfan raised funds for the upcoming projects of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, Huge amount were collected on the evening.
After Fundraising Completed dinner was served which was catered through a local restaurant. As the evening proceeded, renowned Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwal and his team enchanted the audience with his soulful voice.
