Teen Asks for Food Donations for Her Birthday to Support Needy Families

In an amazing gesture, a Park Ridge teen asks for food donations to the local pantry for her birthday.

An amazing, generous gift from local teen

Maine Township Supervisor Carol A. Teschky, right, thanks Elizabeth "Libby" Horak, 16, of Park Ridge for her generous donation of non-perishable items to the Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry.

In lieu of gifts for her birthday, Elizabeth asked for donations to the food pantry. She attends St. Ignatius College Prep and volunteers for Community Tutoring Alliance, where she tutors math to underprivileged children and for Ray Graham Circle of Friends, where she helps children with down syndrome and autism.
