The Parks PlayBook: Family Campout Under the Stars

Get the family together and pack up your camping gear because it’s time for a night out under the stars! Join us for our Third Annual Family Campout on June 28-29 in Prairie Lakes Park. Back by popular demand, our close-to-home campsite gives first-time and experienced campers a night to enjoy the great outdoors. We have a wide range of activities for everyone to enjoy: a scavenger hunt in the park, a roaring campfire where you can roast marshmallows and make s'mores, and an opportunity to star-gaze through a high-powered telescope courtesy of the Oakton Community College Astronomy Club. The park is safe and patrolled. Restrooms are close by. Evening snacks and a light breakfast on Saturday morning are provided. Please note: pre-registration is required. Bring your tent, lawn chairs, and gear; we’ll help you set up for the perfect overnight adventure.
