The Parks PlayBook: Para bailar es Rio Bamba!

On a warm summer evening there is no better place to be than lake side at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion. Cool breezes. A lovely picnic supper. A beautiful sunset. And an evening of music under the stars. This Thursday, July 17, at 7:00pm, enjoy a free concert by the Rio Bamba. For six years, Rio Bamba has performed at a wide variety of jazz and world music venues, parties, and festivals. Their sound is a unique blend of Bossa Nova, Samba, and American and Latin jazz that gets everybody up on their feet. Come early and enjoy a lovely walk around the lake, take a paddle boat ride, or bring the children for some pre-concert fun in the park. Then, sit back and relax, and enjoy classic and swinging jazz, and the beat of Brazilian Samba.

Save the Dates:

Wednesday, July 16, 6:30-8:00pm: The Park It! Patrol will be in Sesquicentennial Park, 255 Grove Street. Don't miss this evening of free fun and games in the park. We're playing croquet, badminton, disk golf, bags, and beach ball volleyball. Or, try to knock down the cans, test your skills with our giant Jenga, and make a craft under the tent.
