Two Person Art Show at Des Plaines Library in April

Artwork by Joan Heath Fortner and Mary Olson will be on display at the Des Plaines Library's 3rd floor gallery during the month of April.

During the month of April, Joan Heath Fortner and Mary Olson, members of the Des Plaines Art Guild (dpag.org) will be featured in a two person show at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street, in the 3rd floor gallery area.

Joan Heath Fortner has been an artist all her life. She studied at the New York Fashion Academy and the Chicago Art Institute and obtained her art masters degree at Loyola University. Most of Joan’s artwork has been with the watercolor technique. Her subject matter includes portraits, landscapes, still life and graphic design.

Mary Olson’s interests include artwork done in oil and watercolor. As the colors dry, she loves to watch them evolve into the images that were in her mind’s eye. Her goal as an artist is to turn on the viewer’s imagination, too.
