Vaseem Iftekhar for the Trustee for College of Lake County.

Vaseem Iftekhar is a retired pharmaceutical executive with over three decades of experience as a project manager with research-based pharmaceutical companies. He has an undergraduate degree in chemistry and microbiology and has an MBA degree with a focus in Management.

During an interview with Vaseem said, I am having several years of experience in pharmaceutical development and I completed many large projects globally within the allocated budgets. I also served as Director of strategic planning with the pharmaceutical Knoll division of BASF Prior to my appointment at Abbott labs. I was project manager for the development of the HIV drugs team at Hoffman La Roche at the height of the AIDS epidemic which successfully developed the second HIV drug DDC.”

Vaseem Iftekhar is a well-known community leader in Lake County, Illinois He has been named as a community Leader in 2008 and was awarded recognition again in 2019 for his community work by the Democratic party.

Vaseem Iftekhar was appointed to the CLC board of trustees following a vacancy in the Board in 2020, He is currently serving as a trustee and is a candidate as a Trustee of College of Lake County in the April 2021 election, Vaseem Iftekhar served as a board member of CLC Foundation prior to his appointment as a Trustee of the college.

Vaseem Iftekhar has a strong background in business and in research and development with over three decades of experience in project management with large global companies. He believes in affordable education for all. He will build solid cooperation with the industry to enhance job opportunities for graduates of the College of Lake County. He will continue to work for diversity and equal opportunity for everyone to enhance their economic status.

Vaseem Iftekhar is the only Asian American is currently serving on the Board of Trustees at the College of Lake County. Vaseem Iftekhar is a naturalized US citizen. He is married with three grown children and five grandchildren.

Vaseem Iftekhar is contesting in the April 6 election to retain his seat as a trustee of College of Lake County Illinois. He has been endorsed by "The Daily Herald" as well as the College of Lake County Federation of teachers and many other organizations.
