Woman Hit By Car And Killed While Crossing Touhy Avenue In Des Plaines
A 69-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in a poorly lit area on Touhy west of Mannheim Road Wednesday night.
DES PLAINES, IL - A senior citizen was killed Wednesday night while crossing Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines. The 69-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in the west curb lane in the 1400 block of the thoroughfare just west of Mannheim Road, according to a report from CBS-Chicago.
The woman was headed north in an attempt to cross the street in a poorly lit area around 8:30 p.m. First responders took her to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in nearby Park Ridge, where she was pronounced deceased about an hour later.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman Thursday morning as Sneh Badwhwar of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
