Women and volunteers are honored in gala by Empowering Women NFP.
Every year Empowering Women NFP hosts a spring gala to honor women and volunteers from Chicagoland.
On March 3, 2024, 3 p.m. to 6p.m. well-known Empowering Women NFP hosted its Spring Gala and Cultural Fashion Show. A 501c3 non-profit organization with headquarters in Chicago, Empowering Women NFP offers a variety of services to women and man who have experienced domestic abuse. The glamorous event took place at the Four Points Sheraton in Schiller Park, IL, and was attended by over 200 attendees.
Encouraging Women, the goal of NFP is to end the cycle of domestic abuse against Gender Base by offering essential services.
Maria Bonita Modeling Agency enhanced the Cultural Fashion Show with style and grace. representing the broad, varied communities that Empowering Women NFP serves. The women who participated in the Sewing Skills Development Program offered by Empowering Women at NSTOP and wearing clothes they had learned to sew were among the highlights.

Raising money for the expansion of Empowering Women's Sewing Skills Development Program to the South Side community of Woodlawn and the addition of a Digital Skills Development Program was the afternoon's main objective. To handle the quantity of women wishing to enroll, both programs must be expanded. Empowering Women NFP was founded five years ago by Arshia Hasnain with the goal of ending the cycle of domestic abuse against women and men. To this end, the organization offers essential services in and around Chicago in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner, catering specifically to the needs of underprivileged communities of color. Through skill development, survivors are assisted in becoming financially independent. Arshia Husnain Highlighted, “In the coming year, we intend to expand our services to the Chicago region. She further remarked, "Our organization, "Empowering Women NFP" is essential in promoting gender equality, empowering women with the help of our organization's services, women may work together to improve their social and economic standing and speak up more. Women have access to resources, opportunities for entrepreneurship, skill development, and leadership, as well as mentorship, through our support network. Their presence encourages female solidarity and progressive reforms that are essential for a just and equitable society.

Ghaziani - Ismaili Council, Shelica Brown Watson – NSTOP, Everal Stuart - In Loving Memory, Sabeena Ghazi - Life and Career Coach, Afsheen Alam - Accent edge Foundation, Carolina Ocampo - Founder of Maria Bonita Modeling.

In addition, Empowering Women NFP provides self-defense training, case management, financial counseling, professional counseling, emotional wellness services, and legal support. In addition, a temporary emergency shelter is available to guarantee urgent safety. The variety of women Empowering Women serves is reflected in their staff. The average team member has more than 15 years of expertise empowering women.
Arshia Hasnain, Stephanie Pelzer, Mumtaz Husain, Farvah Lakhani, Abhi Singh, Sahar Ahmad, Sarah Hussain, Farah Chalisa, Sena Alinco, and Diana Rodriguez collaborate to provide support to numerous marginalized communities in Chicago, such as the African American, Latino, South Asian communities and others.
