Midwestern University Receives Cornerstone Award for Economic Development

Midwestern University recently received a Cornerstone Award from the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation for the development and completion of the new Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic.  The award recognizes projects with a significant economic impact in Downers Grove and takes into account the design of the project as well as the organizations status as a good corporate citizen.

Downers Grove Mayor Martin Tully presented the 2013 Cornerstone Awards at a luncheon attended by more than 160 business and community leaders. In his remarks, he said that “the importance of economic development to the Village and the community cannot be overstressed.”

Karen Johnson, Ph.D., Vice President, University Relations, accepted the award on behalf of the University. Recently, Midwestern University completed a new $113 million Multispecialty Clinic in Downers Grove. The clinic provides a wide-range of healthcare services to the community and features graduate healthcare students offering care under the close supervision of faculty mentors.

Midwestern University was one of three organizations to receive a Cornerstone Award from the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation which aims to aid existing businesses and attract new business to Downers Grove.
