Midwestern University Professor Completes Term as President of National Pharmacy Education Organization

Midwestern University is recognizing Robin M. Zavod, Ph.D., FAPhA, Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy, Downers Grove, for her service as 2025-2026 President of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the national organization representing pharmacy education in the United States.

Dr. Zavod, a long-standing faculty member of Midwestern University's College of Pharmacy, began her term as AACP President in July 2025 following service as President-Elect. The AACP represents 140+ colleges and schools of pharmacy nationwide and works to advance pharmacy education, research, scholarship, and patient care.

During her term, Dr. Zavod helped guide discussions and initiatives focused on preparing the next generation of pharmacists, encouraging competency-based education, supporting research and graduate education, strengthening advocacy efforts, and addressing evolving workforce concerns within the profession. Her election to the AACP presidency reflects Midwestern University's longstanding commitment to leadership in pharmacy education and professional service.

"Throughout the year, every AACP member serves as an important piece of a larger organizational puzzle," said Dr. Zavod. "Without each of their pieces, the tremendous amount of organizational work that has been accomplished would not have been possible. The picture would be incomplete — EVERY piece matters."

During her tenure at Midwestern University, Dr. Zavod has been dedicated to fostering student success both inside and outside the classroom, with a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse individuals. Her passion for teaching, mentorship, and professional development has influenced countless pharmacy graduates who now serve patients and communities across the country.
