Extensive renovations added air conditioning, secure entrances, modern labs, expanded kitchens and new collaboration spaces, enabling a first-ever K‑8 hot lunch program and freeing elementary space for arts, specialists and conferences.

Downers Grove Park District receives $3,500 ComEd grant for Lyman Woods (shawlocal.com) — Downers Grove Park District's Lyman Woods just secured a $3,500 ComEd Green Region Grant to restore habitat around Snappy's Bridge and boost pollinators like the endangered rusty‑patched bumble bee. The project will expand prairie, remove invasives, improve stormwater and water quality, and add educational signage and outdoor classroom space for school groups and volunteers. Residents can also get involved through ongoing restoration opportunities.
4.
