Team Trivia Event to Raise Money for Thanksgiving Dinners

Now in its ninth year, Everyone Thankful is an evening of food and fun dedicated to raising funds to provide Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. The event, to be held Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 p.m., features a team trivia contest as its centerpiece. Dinner and gift basket raffles round out the evening's festivities.

Funds raised at the event will directly benefit local families in need. In past years, proceeds from Everyone Thankful have helped provide Thanksgiving dinners for more than 200 families annually.

"Our name is also our goal," says event co-organizer Carl Maeder. "We believe the food assistance system does a good job meeting everyday needs. However, on special occasions such as Thanksgiving, families often need a little extra help. On Thanksgiving Day, we'd like every local household that wants to celebrate the holiday to be able to put a meaningful feast on its own table."

Everyone Thankful is sponsored by the Elmhurst Elks Lodge and Sojourners Pub Church, with assistance from other local churches. Teams and individuals may reserve their spots in advance by contacting every1thankful@gmail.com. The suggested donation is $25 per person with advance registration or $30 at the door.
