DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove residents will have to wait a little longer to enjoy Ranalli's in town. The Chicago-based pizzeria initially planned to open this fall, but has pushed the projected opening into early 2027.
In an announcement on social media, representatives for Ranalli's said they aim to open the Downers Grove location at 5200 Main St. in January. They initially commented that they still planned to open "later this year," but cited shifting construction timelines for the delay.
The Downers Grove Ranalli's will be the chain's first location in Chicago's suburbs.
The menu at Ranalli's offers tavern-style thin crust pizzas and pan pizzas with traditional and specialty pies available. Their specialty pizzas include a hot honey soppressata with roasted tomatoes and whipped ricotta, and a spicy pizza that's jazzed up with habanero chicken, spicy Hungarian peppers and jalapenos.
Vegetarians can opt for a pizza made with fresh vegetables, a Beyond burger or any of Ranalli's salads.
Build-your-own pizza options are also available, with toppings that range from ground beef and Italian sausage to giardiniera and garlic. Gluten free crusts are avaialble and can also be substituted on specialty pizzas.
Ranalli's is owned by Four Corners Group, which also runs Gaslight in Chicago, Benchmark and Federales Tequila & Tacos in Chicago. This will be the third Ranalli's location for Four Corners Group, along with the pizzerias in Lincoln Park and Chicago's Loop.
After announced the new projected opening date, representatives for Ranalli's commented on Instagram,"We appreciate everyone's excitement and patience and can't wait to welcome you in."
