Fireworks Cause Thousands In Damage To O'Neill Middle School

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police say someone set fireworks off on the roof of O'Neill Middle School, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The damage was found after the school's roof began leaking. According to the Downers Grove Police Department crime blotter, school officials said they found damage on the roof that indicated someone had set off fireworks there.

The incident took place sometime between Aug. 11 and Sept. 2.

The total damage was estimated at $5,000.
